The Redeyes kicked eight goals to two in the second half on Saturday to help register a 30 point win over the Timbercutters.
Coach Jack Tyndall said his side lifted the pressure in the second half.
‘‘The pressure in the first half wasn’t up to our standards and we didn’t win enough of the ball.
‘‘We spoke about it at half time and the boys responded, so credit to them for finding that hunger to win the ball.’’
Tyndall praised Brock Close for his first game of the season with Blighty, after making his way from Geelong for the game.
Assistant coach Tanner Robertson and Darcy Morris also played big roles, according to Tyndall.
As an added bonus the Redeyes finished the game injury free.
Mathoura’s second half fadeouts are quickly becoming a problem.
Last week against Katunga, the Timbercutters allowed their opposition back into the game but managed to hold on by one point.
This week they weren’t as fortunate as Blighty overcame a nine point half-time deficit to run out 30 point winners.
