What this scripture does not mean, is that there is nothing in life we can’t do.
We all have gifts and talents, and so there are some things we will never be able to do proficiently.
But, what it does mean, is that there is no situation or circumstance we can’t get through with God's enabling presence.
Apostle Paul wrote this verse under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
He had endured many hardships such as being shipwrecked, beaten with rods, imprisoned, in constant danger from robbers, and he had many Jewish and non Jewish people trying to kill him.
Through it all, Paul had learnt contentment.
He knew what he had found in Jesus out-surpassed everything this world could offer.
Nothing in life could hold him back or stop him moving forward when he relied on Jesus.
He also discovered that every negative encounter only strengthened him and his endurance and resolve to complete the race set before him.
He knew God was with him.
God Himself will help us complete our race when we totally rely on Him to get us through.
