Moira Food Share Cobram was also a recent recipient of a donation of toiletries from the Optimists, which will be distributed to families in need.
The Optimists’ Fundraising Committee is planning a major event to be held in the near future. Further details will be announced in due course.
The annual garden cart raffle is scheduled to take place in late September or early October. A street stall will be held in conjunction with the raffle day in late September.
On the social front, a number of members recently enjoyed the movie The Sheep Detectives, followed by lunch in Cobram.
Members also attended The Biggest Morning Tea, supporting Tocumwal’s Can Assist and its efforts to raise funds for cancer research.
Another enjoyable social event was lunch at Lynne George’s Tocumwal Antiques.
On a sadder note, the club acknowledges the passing of long-time Soroptimist and Optimist member Esther Bryan. The Tocumwal Optimists extend their sincere condolences to Esther’s family and friends.
The Tocumwal Optimists Club is primarily a volunteer fundraising organisation that also provides members with opportunities for friendship, fellowship and enjoyment.

Tocumwal and surrounding ladies are invited to meet the Women of the Murray Tocumwal coordinator, Jayne, at a social catch up on Sunday, June 14. Jayne will be at Sister cafe from 9.30am to 11.30am.
Jayne is a proud mum of two boys, raising them along the mighty Murray River and soaking up the simple beauty of small-town life. She is always up for an adventure, a fish, or a yarn by the fire.
At the centre of everything Jayne does is a love for people, empowering communities and creating spaces where others feel seen, connected and valued.
Come along, meet other local women, enjoy a warm cuppa and learn more about Women of the Murray, what they are building across the region and how you can be part of it. Whether you come with a friend or on your own, you will be welcomed with open arms.
