The event was hosted by St Joseph’s, Finley and also enjoyed by students from St Joseph’s Jerilderie, St Francis Urana, St Peter’s Coleambally, Sacred Heart Tocumwal and St Columba’s.
They joined together in a variety of traditional Aboriginal activities facilitated by staff from each of the schools, as well as Aboriginal community and support workers from the Catholic diocese.
The children had a magnificent time learning about the culture and history of the traditional custodians of our land.
Local student Aleah Darko was sporting a new hairstyle for the activities, after recently cutting her long hair for Variety Children’s Charity.
The day doubled as a chance to congratulate her on raising almost $300.
NAIDOC Week started on Sunday and runs through to July 14. This year’s theme is ‘Voice. Treaty. Youth. Let’s work together for a shared future’.
