After being reported missing last week, Oscar has been reunited with his family.
Oscar was recently rescued from the pound after having some surgery.
He is very scared of noises, people and cars.
His owners, Simon and Diane, alongside many kind hearted community members spent countless hours looking for him towards the east side of town after he went missing.
A local shire worker - who had previously helped out with a cage to trap Oscar - spotted him days later while he was slashing at the airport.
Oscar popped his head out of an olive grove.
Gavin contacted Diane and Simon, and Diane rushed straight there.
The owners of the farm went above and beyond to search their property, driving Diane around in their buggy to help her search for Oscar.
Diane sat out in the orchard for five hours reading her book hoping he would come to her.
Unfortunately, he didn’t.
The farmers allowed Diane and Simon onto their property whenever they wished as they organised traps, and went out to leave food to keep him on their property.
After another three hours of looking, just as they were starting to give up, Diane and Simon spotted Oscar.
With a bit of creative driving from Simon, Oscar was forced to run past Diane.
He sprinted past but stopped 100m away and watched Diane and the car.
He ran past Diane a second time and stopped 2m away.
He then spun around, came back and jumped on Diane, licking her face repetitively.
Oscar obviously recognised Diane and after than was happy to jump into the car immediately.
“We want to give a special shout to the local Berrigan Shire Ranger, Gerald, who was so helpful, as well as so many local businesses, residents and tourists who all worked together to help keep track of where Oscar was travelling,” said Diane.
“Without everyone’s effort he would not be asleep on his plush bed beside me.
“Taking on a dog is a lifelong commitment I intended to honour - even if he was missing for longer than I had had him.”

With their return to the Picola League, the draw for the 2024 Football Netball season has been released for the Tocumwal Football Netball Club.
Head down to the oval on Good Friday, March 29 for the opening games of the season against Berrigan.
