The program brings top artists to regional venues and builds local talent.
Grants of up to $16,750 will help with programming costs and the presentation of creative shows, as well as helping local venues upskill staff, reach new audiences and develop long-term business plans.
“We know that some of Victoria’s most memorable arts experiences happen in small halls and community spaces,” Regional Arts Victoria chief executive Jo Porter said.
“This program empowers local presenters to create those moments and ensure creativity continues to flourish across regional Victoria.”
The program also supports mentorships and workshops to build skills in regional communities and create job opportunities for local and visiting artists.
Since its launch 10 years ago, the Victorian Government’s Small Regional Presenters Program has supported more than 100 performances across regional Victoria, from circus and cabaret to First Nations music programs and children's theatre.
Recipients have presented a range of initiatives, from storytelling residencies with local performers to music workshops and touring productions.
Victorian Creative Industries Minister Vicki Ward said the program ensured “all Victorians can take part in fun and fulfilling creative events close to home”.
“Creativity is thriving in our regions and Labor is supporting the work of the staff and volunteers who are the backbone of vibrant creative communities across Victoria,” she said.
