A field of 94 players took part in the competition, many dressed suitably for the occasion.
It was immensely touching to see not only the women, but the number of men - young and not so young - who went to so much trouble with their attire to support the fundraising for breast cancer research.
Organiser Joanne Dean was delighted to report that $6500 was raised with some donations still to come in.
She originally began to raise money for breast cancer research following the diagnosis of her mother, with that first raffle at the golf club resulting in $81 being raised.
Since that humble beginning, the total amount of $34,500 has gone to breast cancer trials and $10,000 to breast cancer research, according to community fundraising coordinator Meghan Price.
“These results are a true testament to the generosity and commitment of your members,” Meghan said.
“We are truly so proud to have Finley Golf Club in our Tee Off community.
“Thank you so much for your ongoing support.”
The day started with the local members welcoming visitors from a wide range of golf clubs - from Albury, Deniliquin, Tocumwal, Berrigan and Jerilderie, to name a few.
A group photo was then organised for the records before the two-person ambrose competition began with a shotgun start.
Best Dressed winners Bronwen De Pomeroy and Matt Daniel.
There were many prizes to be won, both for golf and the incredible raffle, with donations from so many businesses and individuals.
Best dressed lady was won by Browen De Pomeroy and best dressed man was Matt Daniel. Trish Jackson and Helen McRae took out the best dressed pair and Annie Wood and Jenny Isedale the best dressed cart.
Finley Bakery was the major sponsor for the day, with Micka Littlejohn assisting with the presentation. Club captain, Matt Daniel, contributed to the light-hearted atmosphere which brought the fun day to a conclusion.
Golf results are in today’s Off The Tee column (on page 15).
Joanne would like to thank the many sponsors who contributed so generously to the success of the day.
