The event attracted about 850 people who thoroughly enjoyed the weather and the activities on offer.
“Attendees enjoyed browsing from the 40 market stalls and food vendors that attended, and the children really enjoyed the free activities like the jumping castle, bucking bull, dragon run, pedal carts, fire trucks, face painting,” committee member Eden Hercus said.
“The standout of the day was the ferret races!
“Everyone loved the cute little fuzzballs, and there was lots of laughs and chanting as they raced through the pipe track.”
The Jerilderie Fun Fair is an initiative of the St Joseph’s Jerilderie Primary School’s Parents Fundraising committee.
“We are a group of volunteers that have worked tirelessly to make the event such a success and raise money for resources for the children at the school,” Mrs Hercus said.
“A big thank you to everyone who contributed their time and manpower, it truly takes a village.
“Thank you to our major sponsors - Transgrid and Yanco Delta Wind & Storage. Sponsorship such as theirs takes away the big overheads, such as children’s activities, and allows us to offer them for free to attendees.
“We are hoping to partner with a couple of sponsors for the 2025 fair and encourage any business interested to reach out to us.”
Next year’s fair has been scheduled for Saturday, March 1.
“We currently are sourcing feedback from attendees on their experience so that we can continue to improve what we bring to the community.
“The link to our feedback survey can be found on our Facebook page.”
