Doing business a little differently

Due to issues with short staffing at the moment, many of our local businesses are required to run a little differently over the next few weeks.

They may need to operate at reduced hours, reduced capacity or offer less or amended services.

As customers, it is a great time to keep supporting our local shops and businesses by being kind and understanding.

If it is frustrating for us, I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the business owners and management themselves.

An action-packed school holiday program has started at the Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club.

The program will be running on weekdays until Friday, January 21 and includes cooking and art classes, a golf clinic, scavenger hunts, golf cart driving and more. Most of the activities are free of charge.

A parent or guardian must remain on site at all times during the activities.

Bookings are essential for these sessions. To get a copy of the program or to secure a spot, phone reception at 03 5874 9111.

Echoing the nationwide critical shortage and high demand of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) across Australia, neither Tocumwal IGA nor Tocumwal Pharmacy have stock.

Tocumwal Pharmacy has some on order, but do not have an expected arrival date.

Both businesses will update our community when they receive a supply of RATs.

The Tocumwal Foreshore Market on Saturday, January 8 was sadly cancelled due to excessive rain the days prior.

The grass area of the market was so wet, it would have been better suited to ducks than market stalls!

The next Foreshore Market will be held on Saturday, January 22 — fingers crossed for better weather.

Just a reminder, due to Berrigan Shire Council regulations, the Foreshore Market is dog free.

The Foreshore Committee, council and market-goers thank you for your cooperation.
