One of the region’s most significant public events, the ANZAC Day Dawn service in Mulwala is on again this year.
Set against the rising of the sun over Lake Mulwala, at the Memorial Wall at the front of ClubMulwala, the service is conducted by the Yarrawonga Mulwala RSL Sub Branch and includes tributes written and presented by local school leaders.
After the service, which is a 5.45am arrival for a 6am start on ANZAC Day, ClubMulwala will be welcoming the public to the annual Gunfire Breakfast at Diggers and then onto the War Memorabilia Room at the club.
“It is somewhat of a hidden gem,” club marketing and communications manager Trish Storer said.
“The collection is amazing and helps to create an understanding of life during wartime- both for those on service and at home.”
The collection contains over 500 pieces of significant war artefacts and stories ranging from letters and medallions to weaponry and other military artefacts.
Additionally, the club is providing live and free entertainment on ANZAC Day afternoon with local musician Les Brazil playing in the Boomerang Bar, as well as free shows over the weekend; Legends of Oz on Friday evening and The Beatlez Tribute Show on Saturday evening.
ClubMulwala is open to the public throughout the club’s open hours and free to visit.
