Around 20 Bundalong residents joined in for ‘Clean up Australia Day’ last Sunday.
Last weekend was chosen as it was after school holidays and a bit quieter around the town.
Three trailer loads of rubbish were removed from the streets, highway and riverbanks.
The local community has always taken pride in their town and works hard to keep it clean and tidy despite rubbish being left behind by some visitors.
Like-minded groups combine for cancer research
The Lions Club of Yarrawonga was visited last meeting by the Eva May Foundation’s own superstars Glenys Davis and Alistair McLellan.
After following the story that our April K-Hub Community BBQ is to raise funds for Childhood Cancer Research with a target of $2000 to beat from last year, Glenys, Alistair and the amazing volunteers from the Eva May Foundation decided they could make this happen.
Glenys presented Lions president Jock McDonald with a donation of $2000, which will be added to the total.
It’s beautiful when like-minded groups band together for a deserving cause.
The Lions Club of Yarrawonga members said farewell to past members Arch and Pearl Laird, who are moving to Traralgon to be with family. Arch was a familiar face pushing a wheelbarrow full of Lions Christmas Cakes accompanied by a lamb called BaaBra
President Jock McDonald presented Arch with an Appreciation plaque for service to Yarrawonga Lions and our community.
