Friends, family members, workmates, schools and sporting clubs were all encouraged to take part in the lead up to the event.
Helen Beer, Tony Fulton and ‘BJ’ braced themselves and braved the cold as locals poured buckets of ice over them, all for a good cause.
It was fantastic to see the support from our community for these three brave participants.
Helen Beer was unable to stifle her reaction to the cold.
A sausage sizzle and a Fight MND merchandise stall were also available on the day, with all proceeds going towards the cause.
Mr Fulton won the guess the number of lollies in the jar.
Almost $1700 has been raised for the cause so far, including more than $600 from the ice bucket challenge and $200 from the barbecue and activities.
Lynette Miller and Julie Ramsay did a roaring trade of Fight MND merchandise.
Almost $900 has been raised from Fight MND merchandise sales, with merch still available at the Toc Rotary Op Shop while stocks last.
The Tocumwal Rotary Club thanked the Tocumwal Racing Club for the use of the chairs, Can Assist for running the barbecue, and Koolaz Ice for generously donating the ice.
They also thanked the community for its support in helping fight motor neurone disease.
Tony Fulton braces for the rest of the bucket to pour over him.
