Recent changes to the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority is making it easier to be recognised as an equivalent early childhood teacher.
From January this year people who have a primary or secondary teaching qualification, are a registered teacher in Australia or have an ACEQA approved Certificate III in early childhood education and care — can be an early childhood educator.
After the end of 2023, this transitional measure is scheduled to cease, however, individuals who have obtained this combination of qualifications before the end of 2023 will continue to be recognised under this provision.
