Continuing efforts to support and give back to the local region, the grant pool has been increased to $40,000.
The program has been running since 2015 and is designed to give back to causes, groups and charities within the Berrigan Shire.
Funds from the grant pool are sourced from a portion of every Strawberry Fields ticket sold, and past recipients have included Berrigan Football Club, CanAssist Finley and The Moira Foodshare program - to name a few.
Applications close March 31, 2024 and will be awarded in April 2024.
Early application is encouraged to avoid missing out.
Further to this, Strawberry’s partnership with Humanitix since 2021 has seen ticketing result in $110,000 being donated to charity for the education of disadvantaged children and indigenous youth.
Each year festival organisers continue to use their event as a platform to power positive change within the community and beyond.
Attending the festival on opening day this year, Berrigan Shire Major Julia Cornwell McKean praised Strawberry Fields for bringing an estimated $3 million into the local economy.
She said it provided a much needed boost post-pandemic and 2022 floods.
Not only did Strawberry wow attendees with a diverse offering of live and electronic music, wellness, art, workshops and performance, they continued to to be a leader in festival sustainability.
Festival director Tara Benney said the committee’s rewash revolution reusable crockery system saw more than 300,000 single use items diverted away from landfill, increased glamping and camping rental uptake and reduced waste left by patrons within the campsites.
They also continued to power 100 per cent of the festival through biodiesel fuel and other alternative energies such as solar, composting toilets and all transport emissions are offset via Treecreds.
“We have been blown away by the overwhelming positive feedback we have received following our November edition, and we are excited about what we can bring to Tocumwal in 2024,” Ms Benney said.
