Friends from Finley and Tocumwal travelled to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, North Albury recently to attend a service to commemorate 30 years since the ordination of Parish Priest Fr Martin Cruickshank.
Fr Martin attended Corpus Christi Seminary in Clayton from 1987 until his ordination to the priesthood on September 17, 1993 at St Patrick’s Church, Albury.
He went on to serve the Diocese of Wagga Wagga in Leeton and Finley/Tocumwal before moving to North Albury.
Fr Martin will be remembered for the just on 20 years he was parish priest of Finley/Tocumwal, and the way he endeared himself to all denominations.
A keen golfer, he still continues to travel to Finley Golf Club, when possible, to play in the Wednesday competition.
