At the October meeting of the Finley Garden Lovers Club, members were treated to an interesting demonstration by Val Hand. She showed members how to make a wooden frame of succulents, to be used as a table decoration or wall hanging.
The club considers itself very fortunate to have so many talented members with membership now close to 40.
At the next meeting, which will be held on Monday, another talented gardener will provide a demonstration, Sue Hand will be showing members how to put together creative Christmas decorations made from the garden.
This is bound to get everyone in the spirit for Christmas 2021. At the November meeting, there will be two special table themes.
One is one rose in three different stages, presented separately and the other is geranium or pelargonium in flower; one stem in flower. Competition judges will be Heather Thomas and Jan Cable.
The meeting will be held at the Finley RS Club and members are reminded that proof of double vaccination must be produced, and masks are to be worn.
Please contact Julie Stava as soon as possible with an intention to attend, on 0408 648 494.

Sympathy is extended to Elaine Anderson who is mourning the death of her brother, Albert Willaton, at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on October 12.
Albert, aged 82, was the uncle of Donald, Garry, Jeanette, Russell and Rodney (deceased) and brother-in-law of the late Len Anderson.
On a happier note, changing border restrictions have enabled visits from Victorian family members, including Elaine’s daughter Jeanette, grand-daughter Abbey and great-grandson Archie.
