The Royal Commission on Anti-Semitism and Social Cohesion will begin a new round of hearings in Sydney on Wednesday.
They will examine how individuals are radicalised into adopting anti-Semitic views, with a focus on online environments.
The commission will also examine the role of authority figures who incite hate and how governments have sought to combat radicalisation.
Commissioner Virginia Bell said the causes, influences and pathways to radicalisation were on the agenda.
"We will also explore the effectiveness of current government, law enforcement and community responses, with a focus on prevention, early intervention and deradicalisation," she said.
The hearings come after several high-profile examples of radicalisation, including a neo-Nazi rally outside NSW state parliament a month before the Bondi Beach massacre that triggered the royal commission.
In previous hearing blocks, the commission examined the dissemination of anti-Semitic speech online and the role tech giants play moderating extremist content.
It heard of varied approaches across platforms, with Elon Musk's X refusing to safeguard children from dangerous content on its platform while Anthropic said content moderation was straightforward.
Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, was grilled over changes to its moderation policy that allowed hate speech to remain on its platforms until reported by users.
Meta's global director of core policy Brendan Good said the company's previous moderation system was over-policing political speech and stifling attempts by members of the Jewish community to address anti-Semitism.
The eSafety commissioner Julie Inman Grant highlighted the influence of the US government on tech companies deciding to roll back hate speech policies, blaming the Trump administration for not enforcing protections.
"Technology has never been more powerful and guardrails have never been weaker," Ms Grant said.
"The geopolitics is very much playing into the fermentation of hate online because the platforms feel protected in rolling back protection."
In May, the Australian Federal Police said young people were being driven towards violent extremism at an accelerated rate.
"Where it used to take months or years to radicalise a person, in some cases, it's happening in days," AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett told senate estimates in May.
