Central Queensland's Fitzroy River in Rockhampton passed an International Olympic Committee assessment "with flying colours", Premier David Crisafulli told parliament on Thursday.
"It's official, signed, sealed and delivered," he told parliament.
World Rowing and Paddle Worldwide has also endorsed the controversial site for the 2032 competition.
The premier said it ensured the site would host Brisbane Games rowing, para rowing, canoe sprint and para canoe events.
The state government had been facing mounting pressure to reconsider its nominated rowing venue.
The Fitzroy River is a crocodile habitat but the main concerns about the venue had been the venue's fairness, safety and sustainability.
However, Mr Crisafulli said the Rockhampton flatwater course had been given the green light following a comprehensive and independent technical assessment by "renowned marine engineering experts".
World Rowing and Paddle Worldwide representatives had also inspected the site.
"Many have said it can't be done ... we reject that view," the premier said.
"We back in regional Queensland - no ifs, no buts.Â
"Our commitment has been steadfast, and our message is clear: regional Queensland can and will host events on the world stage."
The Games Authority would now proceed with the detailed planning, design and construction for the competition, he said.
