Aussie shares fall as CommBank, miners drag on market

Australia's share market has fallen for a second session, as a handful of soft earnings results and a sell-down in CommBank and mining stocks dragged on the exchange.

The S&P/ASX200 fell 20.9 points on Thursday, down 0.23 per cent, to 9,188.5, as the broader All Ordinaries eased by 23.3 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 9,381.4.
The leading index fell almost 70 points in early trade, but buyers fought back in the afternoon, narrowing the loss and revealing appetite for further upside after last week's 9,278 record high close.
CommBank fell for a second straight session, dropping more than two per cent despite beating profit forecasts, while miners broadly fell in-line with easing commodity prices.
The Australian dollar is buying 70.50 US cents, down from 70.61 US cents on Wednesday at 5pm AEST.
