Bloods beaten by Roos

Tocumwal’s A grade suffered their first loss of the Picola & District League season on Saturday.

In a 2018 grand final rematch, the Bloods trailed the Deni Rovers by a single goal just minutes before the final whistle.

Unfortunately the well-oiled Roos’ defensive game wasn’t to be beat.

Final score, Deni Rovers 41 to Tocumwal 37. Awards: Lean Nish and Abby Wilson.

B grade too kept up the fight but couldn’t get there before the final whistle.

Final score, Deni Rovers 53 to Tocumwal 40. Awards: Caity Bourke and Tamara Bate.

C Grade never gave up but weren’t strong enough in the end.

Final score, Deni Rovers 42 to Tocumwal 36. Awards: Jessica Sutton and Aleshia Atkins.

C reserve were simply no match to their counterparts.

Final score, Deni Rovers 29 to Tocumwal 10. Awards: Lynsie Reid and Eliza Baldwin.

The Under 17s side came out on top, with their consistency throughout and control of the play seeing the Bloods win by a four goal margin.

Final score, Tocumwal 35 to Deni Rovers 31. Awards: Laura Hatty, Rose Chamberlain and Holly Noonan.

The Bloods U15s managed to fight back to tie the scores at the final whistle in their game.

Tocumwal showed persistence and confidence in their abilities as the margin drew closer.

Final score, Tocumwal 28 to Deni Rovers 28. Awards: Tamika Mosman, Skyla Griffin and Asha Campbell.

The U13s knew going in that they would have a tough fight and were consistent in their efforts despite a loss.

Final score, Deni Rovers 12 to Tocumwal 8. Awards: Alana Sutton, Jessica Bennett and Tahlia Pate.

Tocumwal’s U11s showed off their continued improvement, with lots of positive talk and great movement of the ball.

Awards: Millie Almond, Willa Campbell and Jemma Reid.
