Government funding has been received by Finley Community Gym, to specifically encourage women to look after themselves.
Finley Community Gym president Paul Dundon said the NSW Government Drought Assistance Grant provides free classes and greater fitness opportunities for women across the region.
‘‘It’s a chance for women to feel motivated, and the classes are good for better mental wellbeing,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s a new way to socialise that is not a burden on the finances.’’
The classes started three weeks ago, but there’s still time to participate.
Free classes include the Body Pump classes run by Jerilderie’s Sharon Hatty. Sessions are every Wednesday at 10.30am and Thursdays at 4pm until May 2020.
You don’t need to be a member to access these classes, but attendance will be capped at 20 people per session.
All classes run for 45-60 minutes, and are open to all women over the age of 18.
While at the gym why not sign up to a monthly or yearly membership and have free access to a range of classes including boxing and Zumba.
The Finley Community Gym is located at the corner of Wollamai and Murray Sts, Finley.
