Hands on experience

Finley High School’s Year 10 students have recently completed their first week of work experience.

The students spread out around the country with some working as far afield as Queensland, Melbourne, Griffith, Shepparton, Corowa and Sydney, with others staying in the local area.

Careers teacher Jenny Philpot said the feedback she received from employers as well as school staff members who visited the students was overwhelmingly positive.

‘‘Some employers asked to “keep” their student, while others secured part-time employment after putting in a great week of work,’’ she said.

‘‘I’d like to give many thanks to the wonderful employers. This valuable program would not run without you.’’
