Hayden Panettiere: A life lived in full view
From Heroes and Nashville to her candid final memoir, Hayden Panettiere leaves a body of work shaped by talent, vulnerability and determination.
19°CThe Dominican Sisters of North Adelaide and the community of St Dominic’s Priory College past and present acknowledge with sadness and respect the passing of Rita Shepherd, an outstanding educational Leader, Teacher and Counsellor at the College.
Rita served on the staff of St Dominic’s from 1991, for 30 years. Her ability to take on a variety of educational roles over those years with commitment, energy and compassion was of enormous benefit to the community. Her senior Geography students’ excellent results reflected her outstanding teaching skills.
One of Rita Shepherd’s major achievements was the powerful link she established between the educational Dominican community in North Adelaide with a financially struggling Dominican home for boys, ‘Yuva Jyothi’ in Nagpur India, founded by Fr. Harry OP. The students with whom she travelled would attest to the enormous benefits gained through this encounter which developed further into the ‘Dare to Dream’ Foundation.
We extend our sincere condolences to Rob, Jacqui, Andrew, and their families.
Rita Shepherd will be remembered by the St. Dominic’s community with great respect and gratitude.
