Today we say goodbye to my brother.
I won’t pretend our relationship was perfect, but we were always there to love and support each other. In the later years, there was a clear and painful distance between us due to circumstances, and influences in your life, which created a separation that neither of us genuinely wanted. It’s something I’ve carried with me, and something I wish had never come between us.
What makes it harder is knowing that underneath it all, you were still my brother. That never changed. No matter the distance, no matter the silence, that connection remained.
I’ll always wish we had more time—time to talk, to be with each other, to find our way back without anything or anyone standing in the middle.
But today is about acknowledging that you were here, that you were part of my life, and that losing you matters.
I love you, my brother.
I will carry both the love and the loss for the rest of my life.
I hope you’ve found peace.
Goodbye, my brother.
