The Saints have been decimated by injuries, but somebody forgot to tell the Saints who came out holding their own against a strong Deniliquin outfit in the first half.
It was a tough battle between two good sides, but eventually Deniliquin was able to get the best of the Saints in the last quarter.
Keith Tallent dominated up forward again, kicking five goals and flying for marks everywhere.
Tallent has been a terrific addition to the Saints and leads the league goal kicking on 32 goals.
Griffin Surrey had his best performance in the red, white and black. He was instrumental at stoppages, and also as a marking target around the ground.
Xavier Fox was terrific, putting his heart and soul into the game and playing a defensive role on Deniliquin’s best midfielders.
Patrick Waugh also impressed the coaches with clean hands and good decision making.
It was a great effort by the depleted Saints.

Reserves:
It was a tough day on Saturday for the Berrigan reserves, who were down on numbers and facing an extremely well drilled Deniliquin Rovers outfit.
The Saints gave it all they had all game, and no one can fault their efforts.
Noel Baxter was welcomed back to the side this week with open arms.
He picked up right where he left off, gathering heaps of the footy and willing his team forward, tremendous effort by ‘Noely’.
Stu Pyle was under a lot of pressure down back and lived up to the task, stopping goal-after-goal with his golden fist.
Caleb Thornton and Ben Ackerly both deserve a huge round of applause as both took on new roles as midfielders.
They took the challenge head on.
The Saints will look to the bye this week to regain some numbers and rejuvenate their current warriors.

Thirds:
Saturday was a tough loss for the Saints.
They were up against the wall from the start without a bench, but fought hard and played a great game.
Lachlan Packer played a great game kicking three, and Clem Surrey dominated the footy around the ground.

Fourths:
Saint-sational is the only way to describe our youngest Saints, coming up against a taller opposition with lots of numbers on the bench.
The Saints put a stop to the Rovers' winning streak, overcoming Deniliquin by 22-points.
The battle was won in the midfield with Jordan Swann starring across the ground.
He had the help of workhorse and talented young gun Nick Arnold, who looked like he could run all day.
Kobe Smith played his best game for the year, undeterred by taller opponents and giving it all he had.
It’s great to see our smallest Saints getting amongst all the action.
