Hoping to continue their undefeated run in this competition, the undermanned side could not hold up to the very physical Swan Hill side.
Coach Josh Perizzolo said despite the loss, it was a great team effort by the Wanderers.
“Every player played the game in great spirits and conducted themselves with sportsmanship, against a side that were quite physical,” he said.
Swan Hill went into the break 2 to 0 up, after catching Deni off guard from a drop ball and another from the penalty shot.
“We had plenty of opportunities in the second half, but we were unable to convert and Swan Hill were able to add a third after we pushed more men forward late in the match,” said Perizzolo.
“A huge performance by all, with lots of players taking on new roles.”
Both Brad Scroop and Jyah Lavars were awarded players’ player.
