Unfortunately we failed to put into play our training and the Strathy girls took full advantage.
With our middle quarters showing where we need to work more and our last quarter our strongest, we know deep down we can play better.
Strong training this week ladies, and let’s keep moving forward.

The girls came up against strong shooters and feeding from the Strathy side.
Our shooters played well against tight defence but unfortunately we lost on the day.

C-grade: Blighty 16 def by Strathmerton 46.
It was another rough game against a strong Strathy side this week.
Injuries and illness held the team back, but the girls still continued to give their all.
They fought hard all game and had fun regardless of the loss.

Under-17s: Blighty 17 def by Strathmerton 24.
On a wet dreary day, Blighty travelled to Strathy for round seven. It was not an ideal day for netball, which slowed the pace of the game.
It was a well contested game in which the Redeyes battled hard against a very physical Strathy side.
To the girls’ credit they soldiered on and tried their best.
Chelsea Weir defended brilliantly all day. She is such a reliable and tenacious netballer who also turns around to help attack down the court. Her workload is huge and doesn’t go unnoticed.
Ruby Pisasale was also staunch in GK, helping to unsettle her opponents and creating turnovers and rebounding beautifully.
Ash Charlton had to fight hard in attack all day. She never gave up and did her best to push the Redeyes forward by sinking some lovely shots.

Under-15s: Blighty 10 def by Strathmerton 16.
The under-15s had a tough match in Strathy.
The girls started off strong getting an early lead, but for the rest of the game we slowed down.
We were still able to pick up loose balls, getting us back in the game.
The girls never dropped their head and even tried different combinations, which they adjusted to very well.

Under-13s: Blighty 17 def Strathmerton 7.
Blighty’s U13s handled the wet conditions to beat a determined Strathy.
With both teams fumbling the slippery ball, Blighty was able to cause numerous turnovers and keep them scoreless into the second half.
Ella Charlton again shot beautifully, supported by Shelby Huckin and Savannah Bain.
Lilly Petersen was consistent self, performing well in both defence and attack.
Amelia Armytage continues to be strong in defence, however showed versatility with a running mid-court.
Kaydnce Sibraa worked tirelessly throughout the middle bringing the ball into attack.

The girls faced the cold, wet weather at Strathy.
Having worked on our three feet at training, all the girls had something to work towards.
Indi Bain (Flipstars Award) showed us how it is done with some amazing intercepts and using her leadership to help the younger girls on the team.
Myah Gazzara (Blighty Canteen Award) gave it her all, playing new positions and constantly improving.
Isla Andrews (Fnley IGA Award) switched from defence into shooter, moving well around the ring to help stop goals and even score some.
