Lachlan Holloway was next in and together with McCallum battled away against the Saints attack. The Saints bowlers were bowled in two over spells in the very humid conditions.
The two battled away adding a further 17 runs to the score and when they looked to be settled again, Whelan struck claiming McCallum caught for 13. The score now was 4/30.
Kai Hillier was next in but again Whelan (4/7) clean bowled him for a golden duck and the young opening bowler was on a hat-trick.
Dominic Read was the fresh man in to face the hat-trick ball and survived.
Next over saw Holloway run out for six by Harley Middleton and Mears after some poor running between wickets, and the Rhinos were now 6/33. Next over Ross (1/7) was back into the attack clean bowling Read for two and the score was now 7/34.
Stephen Marshall and Jai Ezard set about making a defendable score for the Rhinos going the aerial route. They added a further 19 runs before Andrew Parr (1/10) taking the keeper gloves off, clean bowled Marshall for six.
Ezard followed shortly with Connor Thornton (2/5) claiming him caught for 10 and then clean bowling Patrick Westcott for two, and the Rhinos were bowled out for 62.
The Saints were keen to get in the middle and it was Thornton and Zach Nugent opening up against the Rhino bowlers Muppidi (0/8) and Kai Hillier (1/7). They struck early with Hillier having Thornton caught behind for one and the Saints were 1/3.
Ross joined Nugent in the middle and watched as Nugent took to the Deni bowlers hitting a couple of massive sixes and a number of fours, racing the score to 39 before Ross was caught behind off Marshall (1/6) for 4, and the score now was 2/39.
Whelan was in next, however seven runs later Nugent was clean bowled by Holloway (4/36) for 37 and the Saints were now 3/46.
Mears was next in and was dismissed second ball caught for a duck. Harley Middleton was next in and again failed to trouble the scorers caught on the boundary for a Golden Duck and the Saints were now 5/51.

Lachie Pyle joined Parr in the middle and the two guided the Saints to 64.
The Saints won by four wickets, Matt Whelan claimed the Tim Harris Transport Award for his 4/7 with the ball.
Sunday’s catchup match for the Saints saw them travel to Tocumwal, with only one change from the previous days team. Pyle replaced by Fraser Haintz.
With a very green pitch on offer again, the Saints won the toss and sent the Bloods in.
Ranji Oliver and Rod Meloury took up strike against Ross and Whelan and it was Whelan (2/2), continuing his good form from the previous day, clean bowling Meloury for a duck and the Bloods were 1/3.
Chase Hardwidge was the new man in for Tocumwal and with the guidance of experienced player Oliver, the two got themselves set against some very tight Saints bowling. The two ticked the score to 27 before the introduction of Middleton (1/14) into the attack broke the partnership, claiming Hardwidge caught for 11.
Oliver followed next over when he was caught in the slips off Mears (2/14) and the bloods had slipped to 2/29.
Reece Hardwidge and Aaron Coulson were the two new batsmen in for the Bloods. They added a further 12 runs to the score before Coulson was trapped LBW by Mears and the score now was 4/41.

Hunter Hardwidge and his father added a further 18 runs to the score before the Bloods collapsed, with Hunter caught off Thornton for five, followed by Reece for 24 bowled by Ross (3/9).
Ross then claimed Zac Dixon for a duck and Jacob Champagne for a golden duck off his last ball of the over, and he was on a hat-trick. Whelan, however spoiled the party, bowling Daniel Bennett for one and the Bloods were dismissed for 74 with the last five wickets only adding two to the score.
Saints Nugent and Matt Whelan opened the batting against Tocumwal’s Champagne and Chase Hardwidge.
Nugent and Whelan went about running the score down quickly. The two played straight when required and smashed the boundaries when the bad balls presented. However, some luck went the Saints’ way with a couple of dropped catches.
Nugent reached his 50 and took the score to 74, before he was caught and bowled for 54 off Hunter Hardwidge (1/10).
Ross joined Whelan and hit the winning two runs off the next ball and the Saints finished 1/76, winning by nine wickets.
Nugent claimed the Tim Harris Transport Award for his 54 runs.
This win takes the Saints to the top of the ladder. They play Barooga next.
