The Ladies Keno Let’s Play Ambrose Qualifying Event sponsored by Beth and Kellie White was played in foggy weather.
The two person ambrose qualifying evebnt was won by Beth and Kellie White with 67 net.
The daily winners’ trophy for the day went to Maree Doyle and Margot Robertson, with 71 net.
Runners-up were Joanne and Tess Dean with 72 net.
Ball competition winners were: Helen Wastle and Enid Bain 72, Annie Wood and Sharon Pyle, Kerrie Carlon and Janet Delmenico and Julie O’Brien and Carmel Butcher all with 75, Marian Ayres and Sue Simpson 77, and Rulie Steinfort and Karen Litchfield who finished with 78 net.

Ball competition winners: Kevin Tengstrom 37, with Ian Swain, Marty Piggin and Colin McNamara who all had 36 stableford points.
Stableford was played on the back nine for the Nine Hole Competition on Thursday.
Jake Smith has 22 points to come home the winner, with Tony Smith who had 19 points a winner in the ball competition.

Marty Piggin with 39 points came home the winner. Tony Smith (38) and Chick Braybon (37) were winners in the ball competition.
Saturday was the Finley Newsagency Stroke Day which included the August Monthly Medal for both men and women.
Men’s division one winner was Matt Wilson on 69 net, and in division two it was Tony Smith who came home with 75 net.
Matt Wilson, with his gross score of 91 and net score of 69, took out both the scratch and net medals.
The lady winner was Mary Polkinghorne with 73 net, which also gave her the net medal.
Sharon Pyle, on 90 gross, picked up the scratch medal.

Southern Riverina Veterans
The Southern Riverina Veterans Golf Association’s August competition day was played on Monday on the lakes course at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club.
Stableford was played with 80 golfers taking part.
After countback, David Wilson from Cobram Barooga claimed the division one trophy on 36 points, followed by Yarrawonga player Neville Hawke also with 36 points as runner-up.
John Hyde from Cobram Barooga had 35 points to win the division two trophy, with Carolyn Huggins, also from Cobram Barooga, runner-up with 33.
Zol Zolnierczyk from Cobram Barooga claimed division three with 35 points, and Rand Wilson from Finley had 34 points to be runner-up.
NTPs: 2nd Greg Collier from Jerilderie, 7th Norm Elliot from Cobram Barooga, 12th Neville Page from Yarrawonga, 13th Neville Howe again from Yarrawonga.
Ball competition winners were players who finished with 27 points or better.

On Tuesday, August 1, the ladies played stroke on the captain’s course with Sharon Pyle taking out the prized monthly medal with a net 72.

On Wednesday, August 2, the men played 4BBB par on the president’s course from the blue tees.
Scoring was not easy as the course is playing long with no run in the soft winter conditions.

On Saturday, August 5, the event was stableford for the ladies and men on the captain’s course.
The best score of the day came from Anne Beveridge with 42 points.

In perfect weather on Thursday golfers took to the course.
The winner was Rozie Kennett on countback with 34 points. Runner-up was Di Mitchell on 34 points, followed by Heather Cameron on 34 also.
NTPs: 13th Heather Cameron, 16th Rozie Kennett, 15th second shot Rozie Kennett.
Sunday was Western Riverina District Golf Association Mixed 4BBB with players from Barham, Coleambally, Finley and Jerilderie.
Scratch winners were Ian Swain and Sharon Pyle on 77.
Runners-up were Darren Mitchell and Di Mitchell on 80, and third place went to Bruce James and Kerrie James on 83.
Handicap winners were Greg Collier and Di Rutherford on 43 points, with runners-up Ian Litchfield and Karen Litchfield on 40.
Third went to David Sandquest and Carolyn Martin on 39 points.
