Tocumwal started off on the right foot with Lachie McDonald finally winning a toss and batting first which was met with great cheers from the team.
The away team started off strongly before losing Toby Chappell for 7.
The Meloury boys, Bryce and Brandon settled in and got to work running well and punishing the bad ball.
Tocumwal got to drinks at 1/90 and upon returning to the crease Bryce hit his second six to bring up his 50 retired not out.
Shaun Goldman rolled out and got straight to work with Brandon putting on another 32 runs before Brandon fell for 38.
This led to a bit of a collapse in the middle order with Aaron Shepherd 2, Sam Bennett 2, Goldman 35, Declan Cameron 4, Lachie McDonald (0) and Adam Hughes (5) all departing in the space of 10 overs. Cameron Dickins 3 not out and Amal Aji 1 not out got the side to a total of 8/160.
With a solid total on the board the team got stuck into the task of defending it with McDonald and Chappell opening the bowling.
In an unfortunate accident one of the Katamatite openers had to retire hurt after a knock to the mouth which required seven stitches.
From there Tocumwal got on top taking regular wickets and Chappell doing the damage early.
Declan Cameron replaced McDonald and bowled extremely well making it difficult to score and was rewarded with a couple of wickets.
At drinks Tocumwal had them 6/61.
Adam Hughes, Amal Aji and Cam Dickins all picked up a wicket after drinks to bowl Katamatite out in the 27th over for 88 to win by 72 runs.
Best bowling figures were Toby Chappell 3/21, Declan Cameron 2/11, Adam Hughes 1/17, Amal Aji 1/7 and Cam Dickins 1/2.
