Toc led at quarter time but were 17 points down at half time and were not able to make up the leeway despite an excellent final term.
Considering the rain during the week, the Rovers ground was in quite good condition as Toc looked to post their third win on the trot against Deni.
The first term saw Toc dominate inside 50s only to see the ball continually come back out, whilst Deni were able to score almost every time they went inside.
Continual poor turnovers cost the Bloods throughout the game which often saw Deni slingshot back the other way and score.
The coach wasn’t happy at halftime, with no score in the second term, and asked some of the midsized players to lift after a quiet start. The message seemed to fall on deaf ears as Toc continually butchered the ball going inside forward 50, giving the lead up forwards little chance.
In the last term we started they move the ball quicker and threw caution to the wind a bit and ended up outscoring the Rovers, four goals to two.
Unfortunately, though it wasn’t Toc’s day with too many passengers, the final margin was 13 points. Kade Rowe, Mitch Collins-Bye and Pete Lankester all tried their hearts out and led from the front.
This week Toc head to Jerilderie and hope to bounce back to some form.
