Peter Thompson and Karen Butcher took out the respective men’s and ladies monthly medals when a stroke event was played on Saturday.
Karen is gaining the benefit of practice and persistence, securing her second consecutive monthly medal with her nett 72 round.
There were three grades on Saturday in rather warm conditions.
A-grade winner was Hugh Sutton nett 69 from runner-up Darren Mitchell 71; B-grade Des Ramsay nett 64 from runner-up Peter Thompson 67; and C-grade Karen Butcher nett 72 from runner-up Marg Radeski 75.
There has been a consistent theme over the past week with smaller fields due to the heat.
On Thursday, a small field contested the 18 holes stableford event, won by Sarah Aitken with 39 points on countback to Ruth Peacock.
The 9 hole winner was Esther Bolton with 19 points from runner-up Rae Lawrence 16.
On Wednesday, we again had three grades.
The A-grade winner was Geoff Corboy 37 points on countback to Peter Joice; B-grade Neville Werner with a whopping 46 points from runner-up Ron ‘Moot’ Turner 39; and C-grade Tom Edwards 41 from runner-up David Grant 40.
Coming up we have a stableford event tomorrow, then on Tuesday there is 9 holes stableford, Wednesday is stableford and Thursday is 9 holes stableford and 18 holes stroke.
Next Saturday is stableford aggregate.
Junior golf clinics continue this morning.
Last Friday was hugely successful and another big roll-up is anticipated today.
Primary school aged children are from 9am, with high school age from 10.30am at a cost of $10 per person.
In the clubhouse, a Valentine’s Day dinner will kick off the new club catering run by Rachael Munro from Café 100.
There will be an incredible rolling feast for $150 per couple, with bookings essential at the club by February 12.
From next Friday, the bistro will be back to operating as normal on a Friday night.
Tonight raffles will continue, with tickets on sale from 6pm and draws from 7pm.
Happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
