A welcome face on Saturday mornings at the canoe shed at Thompsons Beach for the past nine years, Sue reached her 250th Parkrun on Saturday, August 23.
Sue quickly took on a leadership role in the volunteer-run event after taking part in her first Cobram Parkrun in July 2016.
The popular weekly event has since become something of a family affair, with Sue’s husband, daughters and grandkids often taking part.
Sue has played an invaluable role as run director for 60 Parkruns, volunteering on 118 occasions, including 16 times as timekeeper, 12 times as barcode scanner, and four times distributing finish tokens.
Now she’s one of seven run directors, who give up their time on Saturday mornings to make sure each Parkrun goes smoothly.
As run director, Sue’s duties include ensuring there are enough volunteers to help out each week, posting on social media and making sure every runner is emailed their result.
