Sienna stands out in squash

Sasha Wood and Sienna Burke.

Finley RS Squash Club Championships came to an exciting conclusion at the RS Club on Monday night – and with some amazing results.

Thirty six players contested four rounds on consecutive Monday nights in October in junior girls’ and boys’ divisions as well as women and men’s draws.

Sienna Burke played incredibly, taking out both the junior girls’ and the women’s divisions.

Bella Rourke was runner up to her in the junior girls and Sasha Wood in the women’s.

Reece Simmons took out the junior boys, successfully defending his 2022 title, with Ben Rourke the runner up.

Unfortunately, Ben was ill and unable to play on the night.

Club champion in the men’s division, Brett Murphy, also defended his 2022 title with his win against Cooper Burke.

Sienna Burke has not only taken out the junior girls and women’s trophies; she was also a part of the recent successful Finley High School team to take second place in the Combined High Schools NSW State Championships in September.

Finley RS Squash Club continues to grow in popularity, with more than 70 players, and anyone wishing to take part can obtain more information by contacting Brett Murphy on 0409 806 695 or by going to the Finley RS Squash Club Facebook page.

The members would like to thank the Finley RS Club for its continuing support and maintenance of the courts.
