Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Saints were initally in all sorts at 4/14 from some strong line and length bowling from Cobram’s openers.
Cobram kept the pressure on the Saints’ batsmen in the semi final with the score at 5/30.
Luke Melville and Jordan Swann set about rebuilding the innings taking the score to 60 before Swann was dismissed for 12.
Small partnerships around Melville with Harley Middleton (7), Jeremy Packer (9) and Fraser Haintz (4) took the score past 100 with Matthew Whelan run out for one.
The Saints were all out for 113, with Melville carrying the bat by batting the innings finishing with 59 not out.
With a small target the Saints had to start strong and they did.
The first four Cobram batsmen were all out for ducks, with Ross grabbing three and Lachie Pyle with a superb runout had Cobram 4/4.
A partnership took the score to 52 before Melville, Swann and Ross grabbed another run of wickets to have Cobram 9/66 before Haintz took the last wicket with Cobram all out for 73.
Ross took 5/8, Melville 2/3, Haintz 1/15 and Swann 1/27.
Thanks went to Katamatite Cricket Club for hosting the semi final.
