The Rhinos won the toss and elected to field.
For the Saints, Matt Ross and Lachie Pyle got off to a strong start against the Rhinos opening bowlers Charlie Hillier and Senaka Lakmal.
The few chances created didn’t go the home side's way.
Ross got to a well made 52 before an under edge, caught by Rhinos wicketkeeper Tom McCallum.
Chris Pyle and Hamish Baker then came on with the ball to try and stem the runs.
Troy Poynton joined Lachie Pyle with the bat and the pair continued big hitting until Pyle was given out LBW for an important 31 from the bowling of Baker.
Luke Melville joined Poynton in the middle, both making starts.
It was the introduction of Jake Herberte and Charlie McCallum after drinks that got the dismissals for the Rhinos.
Herberte got Poynton knocking over his leg stump, bowled for a quality 36.
McCallum got Melville caught by brother Tom for 21, and then had a new batter to the crease, Andrew Parr, out for two, caught by Stephen Marshall.
Berrigan’s young tail of Jordan Swann and Jeremy Packer then came together and added some handy runs before Lakmal returned to bowl, getting three wickets to help finish off the Saints.
He had Packer out caught for nine by Lachlan Marshall at mid-wicket, Josh Monteath bowled without scoring and Swann LBW for 17.
Stephen then bowled the final over of the innings, bowling one ball before getting Lachlan Packer without scoring.
With only 10 batters, the Saints posted an imposing total of 177 off their 40 overs.
Aiming to improve their chasing record, the Rhinos were looking for a good start.
It wasn’t to be, as opener Tom McCallum was given out off the first ball of the innings, strangled down leg side by Ross to Saints’ wicket keeper Parr.
Dillip Boppidi, the other opener, was in for two overs more before also being removed without scoring by Ross, bowled out.
Baker and Hillier, in the middle, built together before Hillier was dismissed for four bowled by Swann and caught by Pyle.
Baker and Lakmal then got set before Baker was out, caught at short cover by Ross off Swann for 15.
Charlie and Lakmal turned the game for the Rhinos, getting to 5/84 two overs before drinks.
That over, Lakmal was out caught off the bowling of Poynton for 15.
Rowan Frazer joined McCallum getting to drinks.
However, two balls after drinks, Frazer was removed by Poynton, caught by Jeremy Packer at gully.
Charlie continued his scoring, with Lachlan also getting in on the act.
Lachlan reached eight before getting bowled by Melville.
Pyle joined Charlie, and the strong hitting pair continued the scoring.
They got the just under 80 runs required before Charlie was out, bowled by Lachlan Packer for a well-made 38.
Stephen then joined Pyle for two balls before he was caught by the Saints’ fill-in fielder, who took the skied catch above her eye line.
Prem Muppidi joined Pyle for the last wicket.
The pair scored a few boundaries, including a six via overthrows.
However, with too much to do, Muppidi was bowled by Swann for four, with Pyle stranded at the other end on 34 not out.
The Saints completed the win by 31 runs over the Deni Rhinos.
