Winning the toss and batting first, the Saints were carried by a brilliant century from Matthew Ross, who produced one of the standout innings of the season.
Ross hammered 117 from 96 balls, clearing the rope eight times and finding the boundary with the same frequency.
His knock held the innings together as wickets fell regularly around him.
Luke Melville added six, while a cluster of early dismissals left the Saints under pressure.
Jeremy Packer (10) and Graeme Parr (18 from 56) worked to steady things, but Barooga’s bowlers kept chipping away.
With a handful of late runs, the Saints were eventually bowled out for 174 in the 37th over.
Defending a modest total, the Saints’ bowlers made Barooga earn every run.
Fraser Haintz led the way with an excellent spell of 3/23 from eight overs, keeping the scoring tight and breaking partnerships at key moments.
Ross backed up his batting heroics with 3/20 in a lively five‑over burst, while Troy Poynton (1/17) and Matthew Whelan (1/23) added important wickets.
Barooga battled hard, with Ben Lucas managing 52 from 56 balls, and Alfie Lewis Frost managing a 40 as the two standout batsmen.
Barooga were eventually dismissed for 162 in 38.5 overs, giving the Saints a deserved 12‑run win and a strong all‑round performance to build on.
The Saints now sit in second on the ladder, however just the quotient separates them from Nathalia who currently sit in first, making each game matter if they want to take out that first position.
