Facing off with second-placed Deniliquin, Rochy showed plenty of heart, but Deni had the quality to prevail 14-61 to 2-55.
All three rinks were closely contested, but Conway Bovell’s proved valuable for Deniliquin, his squad getting up 19-13 over Leslie Walles.
Shane Laing’s 23-21 victory for Deniliquin was cancelled out across the greens by Rochester’s Don Gillies, who also scored a two-shot win, 21-19, but Deni kept the overall edge.
Rochy remains second bottom in the league, but is still competitive on points with the mid-table sides due to having already had two byes.
A chance to break through for a second victory of the year will come next Saturday, when the side battles the 2-4 Rich River at Rich River Bowls Club.
Lower divisions
In division three, Rich River got the best of Lockington, 14-76 to 2-46, Elmore scored victory over Stanhope, 14-60 to 2-47 and Rochester defeated Deniliquin 14-69 to 2-51.
In division four, Lockington and Rich River shared the points, Locky with the slight edge 9-60 to 7-60, while Rochester obliterated Ky Valley View 16-101 to 0-30.
In division five, Kyabram took down Lockington 12-40 to 2-34, and Deniliquin White scored the win over Rochester 12-44 to 2-39.
