A strong start to the season with a great opening win against Echuca United.
We started strong and led by seven at quarter time and maintained that pressure to go into the main break ahead by the same margin.
Echuca fought back in the third, closing the gap to four goals, but we held our composure in the final quarter and the heat to secure the win, 51 to 46.
It was a fantastic team performance across the court, with all players executing their roles.
Makayla Finn had a great first game for the club in attack, making an immediate impact.
Min was outstanding through the centre, working tirelessly, while Mia Parks played a key role at WD, applying strong defensive pressure, working hard in transition and helping steady the flow of the game.
A really positive start and a great foundation to build on for the season, and congratulations to Lucy Pitt on making her A-grade debut.

B-grade: Deni Rams 33 def by Echuca United 44.
The B-grade team started the season well, matching it with Echuca United early and keeping the scores close.
By halftime, it was still a tight contest, although Echuca had begun to take control.
In the second half, Echuca lifted and pushed ahead on the scoreboard.
Despite the loss, the game was a fairly even contest overall, and it was a great chance to try different combinations.
Dakota Mitsch was a standout, playing calm and controlled netball well beyond her years.
Shontai O’Callaghan was a key target in the attack as our go-to shooter, while Lucy Pitt was strong in defence and also earned an A-grade debut.
Plenty of positives to take from the game and a good start to the season.

C-grade: Deni Rams 25 def by Echuca United 51.
With a new combination of players in C-grade, the girls came up against a very young Echuca side on Saturday.
Our girls displayed many promising passages of play and fought hard for four quarters.
After taking the first quarter to settle, our girls were able to apply a remarkable amount of defensive pressure across the court, resulting in multiple turnovers.
Peta Ussher was impressive in defence and through the mid-court with her speed and agility.
A great start to the season and fantastic to see the girls fight hard to the final whistle.

C-Reserve: Deni Rams 18 def by Echuca United 66.
C-Reserve went down 18 to 66, but the scoreline didn’t reflect the effort and promise shown by a largely new team.
Keely and Carla worked tirelessly in defence, applying strong pressure, while Remy shot with confidence despite a changing line-up around her.
Through the mid-court, Lucy and Charlee helped settle play and deliver the ball into the ring.
A positive performance with plenty to build on as the team continues to grow.

Under-17s: Deni Rams 48 def by Echuca United 51.
The Rams under-17s came out of the blocks firing with a new look outfit of players for round zero on Saturday.
The girls played with a fierce intensity from the first whistle, with a speedy transition through the mid-court thanks to the impressive court awareness and footwork of Sienna Elphick and Arabella Bliss.
Hannah McBurnie and Phoebe Newman combined beautifully in goals, both with a high conversion rate.
The Rams defenders worked tirelessly in defence and were rewarded with multiple turnovers.
A terrific effort for the girls for their first game and a new combination of players.

Under-15s: Deni Rams 3 def by Echuca United 28.
In their first game of the season, Deni faced a tough challenge, going down to Echuca 28 to 3.
Meg Meharry was best on court, standing strong in defence against a well-oiled attack.
Zara O’Donnell worked tirelessly in defence, while Grace gave a solid effort in WD.
A challenging start, with plenty of work ahead as the team builds combinations and confidence.

Under-13s: Deni Rams 12 def by Echuca United 30.
Despite a 30 to 12 loss to Echuca in our season opener, the girls showed determination.
After a slow start, they improved each quarter and finished strongly, winning the second half, proving the score didn’t reflect their effort.
Julia Smith was outstanding in defence, using her reach to intercept and rebound consistently.
Chloe Marshall displayed versatility through the mid-court and into the ring, linking well with teammates.
Aysha Bartlett was relentless through the mid-court, impacting both defence and attack.
Proud effort from every player across the court today. Excited for what’s ahead this season.

The under-11s kicked off their first game of the season with fantastic energy and outstanding sportsmanship from all the girls.
Ava Milliken gave 100 per cent all game, showing a never give up attitude through the attacking midcourt.
Kobee Williams impressed with her strong defensive pressure, while Maggie Burge showcased her excellent defensive skills and determination.
Every player contributed with great effort, teamwork, and positivity on and off the court.
We are incredibly proud of the girls and excited for what the rest of the season holds.
