In a high quality match, the lead changed several times early with Curtin putting in some lovely draw bowls.
Around the tenth end, Glanvill found another gear and pulled away to win 25-11.
Glanvill, due to have her first child in mid January, hopes to be back on the green to play in the Murray Bowls Champion of Champions in February.
The Midweek pennant team finished off 2022 with a convincing win over Tocumwal Golf 69-33 (16-0).
Mary Curtin, supported by her rink of Val Chisholm, Gayle Reynoldson and David Reynoldson, continued her excellent form with a 28-9 victory.
Glenys McKay won 26-10 and Elaine Hawkins snuck home 15-14.
The win moves Berrigan to eight place on the ladder and with five rounds to be played after the Christmas break they are still a chance for finals.
Harvest and holidays saw the Saturday pennant teams desperately short of players.
Defying this, it was the Division 5 team who carried the banner for the Curlews on Saturday with a 48-28 (14-0) victory over top team Cobram at home.
Kura Goldsmith and her rink of Geoff Blake, Katie Vandermeer and Evelyn Reynoldson won their rink 28-15.
In the other rink, 96-year-old Roy Edwards, along with David Woodward bowling on crutches, Craig Harvey playing his first pennant match as a substitute and Gayle Reynoldson holding the rink together had a 20-15 win.
The Division 5 team sit second on the ladder at the Christmas break.
An undermanned Division 3 team fought hard at home against a very strong Numurkah Golf line up, going down 42-72 (0-16).
Steve Gann lost 21--24, Kelly Milich, stepping up to play skip, lost 13-22 and Glenys McKay lost 8-26.
The Division 3 team are still looking for their first win of the season.
It was a day to forget for the Division 1 team at Tocumwal on Saturday.
Tocumwal dominated on all three rinks with Berrigan losing 37-89 (0-16).
Roger Reynoldson lost 13-17, Paul Glanvill lost 16-29 and Darron Fruend lost 8-43.
After a promising start to the season, the Curlews find themselves at real risk of relegation back to Division 2.
The challenge after Christmas will be to step up and convert some of their narrow losses to wins and to ensure they stem the tide when the match is not going their way.
Jerilderie
The Jerilderie Division 2 pennant team traveled to Barooga on Saturday and were unable to turn the table around and suffered a loss by 15 shots overall.
The team only managed one drawn rink to Terry Chaplain’s rink, and both Ronni Keyes and Mark Baldwin’s rinks had losses of 12 and three respectively.
This result leaves Jerilderie in fifth spot just outside the top four.
The second half of the season will be hard fought, but a couple of wins will get us back into the top four.
Everyone should enjoy the break.
We extend our best wishes to all the opposing clubs for a safe and happy festive season.
Tocumwal
The grand final of the mixed pairs was a thrilling event with both teams' scores equal at various times throughout the match.
After 18 ends the scores were once again level and extra ends needed to be played with Cheryl Mears and Chris Philpot beating Judy Harvie and Roy Taylor.
Congratulations to Cheryl and Chris.
A great time was had by all on the Christmas cheer day with the winners of the triples - Pam Gallagher, Ian Cameron and Peter Enever - taking home prizes of hams and turkeys.
The Christmas theme was evident with Santa making an appearance in various shapes and forms.
