They had 12 wins and three losses for the season, and will play in a qualifying final against the second placed Dookie United next Sunday at Strathmerton from 10.25am.
Dookie won the last fixture at home between the two sides by 17 points.
The thirds will be buoyed by their finals experience in the junior football, including several players in the team that featured in last season’s Picola League fourths premiership.
Thirds player profiles are as follows:
1. Logan Peasley: A lively forward who brings plenty of pressure and is always looking for an opportunity around goal, his speed and attack on the ball is hard to believe.
2. Josh Monteath: A hard-running wingman who provides plenty of outside run and carries the ball with purpose, speed sets him up nicely for great options.
3. Lachlan Packer: A tireless runner who works hard up and down the ground and helps connect defence with attack will sneak a goal here and there.
4. Jack Smith: A dangerous and unassuming forward who loves the contest and knows how to make his opportunities count with surprise package assists in the rucking duties.
5. Lachlan Whelan: A competitive midfielder who brings plenty of energy and is never afraid of hard work, dangerous at times in front of goal and shifts into ruck when needed.
6. Thomas Baxter: A hard-working midfielder, who brings plenty of pressure and determination around the contest will ruck and run all day, never afraid of a contest.
8. Issac Manley: A versatile team player, silky skills, calm under pressure and height all working in his favour.
9. Tully Ryan: A strong backman who keeps his opposition under pressure, good fight for the footy in packs, top communication in the saints solid line of defence.
10. Jack Phillips: A dangerous tall forward with plenty of enthusiasm, strong contesting mark can be damaging in front of goal.
12. Jordan Swann: A strong utility, focal point up forward who provides a contest and brings teammates into the game, intercepting mark and flight for the footy means he is damaging for his opposition.
13. Jordan Dean: A versatile option who can step straight into the action and provide plenty of energy will sneak a goal here and there a great asset.
14. Oliver Batten: A competitive defender who attacks the contest hard and keeps opposition forwards under pressure.
16. Nick Arnold: A composed defender who reads the play well and works hard to shut down opposition, tackling pressure is off the charts, unique ability to appear out of nowhere makes him a nightmare for the opposition forwards.
19. Zavier Binns: A genuine goal-scoring threat who provides a strong target and loves finding the big sticks.
21. Kaleb Litchfield: A versatile utility who brings plenty of hunger for the footy, loves being in amongst it and can find the footy well damaging either in the forward 50 or the defensive 50.
22. Clem Surrey: A key solid defensive presence who provides strength in the air and plenty of drive from defence, huge tackling presence and explosive speed is damaging.
23. Jack Magill: The engine-room runner who works tirelessly around the contest and drives the Saints forward, may sneak a goal here and there, but will work remarkably for the footy and his team from the first whistle until the last, calm under pressure and top tier skill.
26. Austin Ware: A determined defender who brings plenty of pressure and isn’t afraid to put his body on the line every chance, communication is top tier, a true team player.
27. Hudson Ware: A solid-bodied defender with a strong mark who brings plenty of strength and composure across half back, straight line running loves a contested mark and delivers either foot into the Saints forward line.
35. Taylor Thornton: A versatile utility, across half back flank into the forward 50, ready to make an impact, will dig deep for a hard ball and finds time and composure in getting the ball onto his boot, runs all day.
