Yarrawonga 37 def North Albury 36
North Albury had taken advantage of having a home final and started strong from the first whistle.
Yarrawonga’s B Grade kept within a two-goal margin of the hosts in the first quarter.
An injury scare from Alisha Leslie saw Gemma Grimmond move into the wing attack, where she was able to make some strong leads down the court.
Ellie Dickins and Delaynne Moon worked well in the goal circle and were accurate with their shooting.
B Grade started to get ahead of North Albury in the second quarter.
Alisha came into goals to give Dee a chance to get some medical attention.
Ellie Dickins provided leadership during this time and held front position to demand the ball.
Alisha provided a lot of movement to get the ball to Ellie.
Jacqui Oswald was strong in defence, along with Kira Dickins and Grace Stillard, who all worked tirelessly.
B Grade started the last quarter strongly and pulled away by six goals.
Kylie Leslie was strong in centre and provided defensive and offensive support.
North Albury came back in the last five minutes but left their run a bit late.
In the end, the B Grade Pigeons where able to hold on to win by one goal.
The side is getting stronger in each performance and will feel positive against the first placed Wangaratta Magpies this weekend at Wangaratta’s home ground, Norm Minns Oval.

C Grade ~ Elimination final

C Grade coach Helena West fought hard in C Grade’s two goal loss.

Yarrawonga C Grade faced off against the Wodonga Raiders on Sunday, a side who the Pigeons had only lost to by a goal the week prior.
Despite this, C Grade headed into the game with determination and positivity.
The first half was filled with lots of talk and consistency with the side being up by a small margin throughout the half.
Till held strong in goal shooter securing many crucial goals.
The girls got up by five goals in the third quarter, with the help of under 15s player Sienna, who entered the court with C Grade for the first time.
Lauren and Kirby worked tirelessly in defence to shut down the Raiders goalers.
