Nomads win way to semi final

Coleambally’s B-grade Nomads have had a great month of consistent cricket, including chasing down an imposing 157 against Coro last Saturday at Hanwood.

Jeff Phillpot was the pick of the bowlers claiming 4/25 off eight overs as Coly bowled tight lines and fielded with enthusiasm.

In reply, a few ducks at the top stalled the chase.

But Jake Breed continued to find partners, climbing to a top score of 69 with seven fours and hard running between the wickets.

A few late wickets sent the nerves through the camp, but Andrew McIntyre and Breed steered the side home with 10 overs to spare and one wicket remaining.

Coly have finished on top of the ladder and will play Exies Eagles in the semi final in Griffith.
