The Steamers qualified at the top of the ladder at Bowls Premier League 18, heading into finals last Friday with a double chance.
But it would be a straight sets exit for Moama as its title defence came to a close, drawing the curtain on what was a promising campaign.
The Steamers were cruelled in their first final against the Melbourne Extreme, taking the first set of the game 10-0 before Melbourne struck back with a narrow one-shot win in the second.
A tie-break set ensued, with Melbourne clinching a thrilling one-shot win to progress to the next stage of the competition.
However, Moama’s do-or-die preliminary final clash against Tweed Heads Ospreys would not require a tie-break, with the Ospreys claiming both sets and defeating Melbourne in the final.
Despite the loss, Moama’s Aron Sherriff notched his fourth selection in the BPL All-Stars team after a stellar tournament.
Tweed Heads’ Aaron Teys was judged the MVP.
