Jerilderie’s batsmen were unable to get the momentum needed to chase down the target set by Deniliquin, in their B-grade Murray Valley Cricket Association match at Monash Park on Saturday.
The Deni openers got their team off to a flyer before they were both bowled by Evan Lawton.
Deni batted their way to the drinks break, with Charlie McCallum scoring steadily.
Fraser Pinnuck was the pick of the bowlers with 3/12 off four, and Logan Eldridge worked overtime behind the stumps to take three catches and effect a run out.
Following afternoon tea, Jerilderie went out to bat with Alex A’vard heading to the sheds as quick as he went out to the middle, being dismissed first ball.
That seemed to set the tone and the wickets fell steadily for most of the innings, with Jerilderie all out for barely 100 in the 30th over.
The shining light was captain Rory Knight who continued his good form with a nice 36 and Cam Arnold remained 16 not out.
Jerilderie will face an in form Nathalia at home this week.
