Sunday was the second round of the Outback Golf Challenge.
Twenty-one Jerilderie golfers teed to contest the challenge over three days in Finley, Jerilderie and Berrigan.
In exciting news, three Jerilderie pairs had taken a clean sweep in their final rounds and in overall final results.
This is a great result for our club, and all our prize winners.
In total, 70 players registered for this tournament with golfers coming from Jerilderie, Finley, Berrigan, Yarrawonga, Chiltern, Kyabram, Rich River, Rutherglen, Howlong, Coolamon and Ganmain.
It was a very close final round in Berrigan on Monday, with the final overall winners determined by countback!
The winners were Geoff Portbury and Rozie Kennett (40+45+42=127).
Runners-up were Luke and Daz Keating (39+48+40=127).
Third place went to Brett and Denise Boland (44+41+39=124).
Congratulations to all who played, and to those who gallantly placed or were among the ball comp and/or NTP winners at each venue.

Monday, October 2 - Berrigan
Winners – Geoff Portbury and Rozie Kennett, 42 points.
Runners-up – Luke and Daz Keating, 40 points.
Third place – Brett and Denise Boland, 39 points.

Finley
The Ladies played stableford Wednesday last week for the Noonan’s The Jewellers Event.
Winner on the day was Tess Dean with 39 stableford points.
Ball competition winners were Julie Gregory 33, Deborah Pyke 33, and Sharon Pyle who had 32 stableford points
Trevor McCaw with 41 points led the field and claimed the day when the men played stableford the same day.
Trevor also took Billy’s NTP on the 6th, and on the 18th it was Barry Wilson.
Ball competition winners were Paul Beaver 38, Chick Braybon 38, Rob Hawkes 36, and Colin McNamara who also had 36 stableford points.
Stableford was played on the front nine for the last round of the Winter Season Nine Hole Competition on Thursday.
Rob Singleton, with 23 points, came home the winner.
Colin McNamara and Ian Armer, both with 20 points, were winners in the ball competition.
Matt Daniel highlighted the day when stableford was played at Fish Tray Friday.
He had an eagle 3 on the 456m, par 5, 12th hole.
However, it was Matt Wilson with 36 points who came home the Winner.
Barry Wilson, Rory Doyle and Colin McNamara, who all had 35 points, were winners in the ball competition
On Saturday, a large field of golfers were welcomed for the first day of the 2023 Dawmac Industries Mixed Fourball Outback Golf Challenge.
At the end of the day, it was Rand Wilson and Janet Delmenico with 48 stableford points who claimed the day from Billy Smith and Trish Jackson on 46 points in second place.
After countback at 44 points, Tony and Maree Ciavarella from Rich River were in third place.
NTP trophies were awarded to Mary Polkinghorne on the 3rd, Jacob Smith on the 6th, Tony Ciavarella (Rich River) on the 11th, Marise Potter (Chiltern) and on the 18th Mick Pitt (Jerilderie).
Ball competition winners were Grant Shaw and Mary Polkinghorne 44, Brett and Denise Boland (Jerilderie) 44, John and Gina Simpson (Jerilderie) 44, Michael and Gai O’Brien (Coolamon) 43, Geoff Portbury and Rozie Kennett (Jerilderie) 43, and Hans and Nancy Duursma (Chiltern) who also had 43 stableford points.
Stableford was played again on Sunday with the Daisy Mae’s Trophy going to the Ladies Division winner, Sue Simpson with 38 points.
In the Men’s Division, the Barooga Sporties Trophies went to Matt Clarke for Division 1 and in Division 2 it was Rick Harris with 34 points.
NTP on the 13th was Linda Rendell, and on the 18th it was Tony Smith.
Ball competition winners were Linda Rendell 35, Helen Wastle 35, Grant Wilson 35, Darren John 35, Trevor McCaw 34, Dayle Pyke 34, and Doug Smith who had 33 stableford points.
After a big week of golf, a smaller field turned out for the Barooga Sporties Stroke Day on Monday.
The Ladies’ Division winner was Helen Wastle with 74 net.
In the Men’s Division, after countback, it was Leo McNamara with 73 net who came out on top.
NTP on the 18th was Bob Ross.
Ball competition winners were Bob Ross 73, Sam Hurlston 76 and Sue Simpson who had 77 net.
Berrigan
Friday’s winner was Wayne Crew (52-18-34), and runner-up was John Walker (49-12.5-36.5).
Joe Nicholls won the putting with 14 putts, and was also the ball winner (48-11-37).
Saturday’s winner was Kura Goldsmith (53-19-34), and runner-up was Louise Johnston (52-16-36).
Jeff Stein won the putting with 14 putts, and ball winner was Dave Midson (53-15.5-37.5).
Sunday’s winner was Paul McVicar (96-22-74), and runner-up was Neil Graham (100-26-74).
Paul also won the putting with 29 putts, and ball winner was Chris Kelly (95-16-79).
This Sunday is stableford at 12.30pm.
October 15 will be a Trade Day. This is a two person ambrose, and you are to arrange your own partner.
