On what was a dark, dull day at home, Rennie took on Strathmerton.
The Hoppers started super early, with Lewie Taylor, Bruce and Connor Strawhorn all hitting the scoreboard, and scores were tied at the first break.
Similar to the twos, a 10-minute lapse in term two saw the visitors create a 29-point break.
The effort was there after the long break, as McGillvray and Lewis were creating for the forwards, but the forward forays only resulted in one major.
A four-goal final term, with Kirchen providing supply and Freeman a target, saw the Hoppers go down by 76 points.

The Hoppers’ Reserves were in front at the first break, as newcomer Thissen was prolific. Ryan provided a great aerial contest, and Paine used his experience to create an eight-point gap.
The second term was a tight fight and both teams battled for ascendancy, but a 10-minute, four-goal burst in term three saw the Bulldogs gain a break and end up winning by 39. Thissen was the only multiple goalkicker with two.

The thirds were up against last year’s premier and had a red-hot go, just lacking connection at half-forward to get the ball forward and deep.
Again, players from the Under 14s stepped up, with Strawhorn and Ednie getting awards, but Brucey is a gun and Knighter is classy every time he has the pill.

The Under 14 Hoppers were spraying shots early, as Thompson and Long provided early control.
Rennie had multiple targets forward, with wily Withers and terrorising True snagging six goals each, enchanting Ednie four, along with brilliant Bott with two, working together to create a variety of avenues to goal.
Rennie were able to spread the load across the entire team, which is an important factor as the season gets longer.

Under 11s
The weather was at its best early and the circus may have been in Yarrawonga, but the fun was at Rennie.
Trewarne brained the opposition with class and skill, Ednie was sharp and classy, and Lewis was strong and kicked beautifully. It was a very even team effort.

The Hoppers are away at Katunga this week, then back at Mulwala Water Ski Club for awards.
Netball
A Grade
Rennie 47 defeated Strathmerton 43.
Rennie A Grade returned to the winners’ list this week with a well-earned 47–43 victory over Strathmerton.
It was a competitive contest from the opening whistle, with both teams working hard to gain the upper hand. Rennie showed great composure throughout the game, sticking to the game plan and backing each other in every contest.
Strong defensive pressure created crucial turnovers, while the midcourt connected well to drive the ball through the court and provide plenty of opportunities in attack.
The team effort was outstanding, with every player contributing and playing their role. The determination, intensity and willingness to work for one another were on display all day and proved to be the difference in the end.
This win is a great reward for the commitment and hard work that has been building over recent weeks. It was a fantastic result, with plenty to take confidence from heading into the next round.

B Grade
Rennie 36 defeated by Strathmerton 45.
So close, but not quite there. It was a great game on Saturday and a fantastic team effort from everyone on the court.
The shooters worked well together, creating opportunities and putting up plenty of shots throughout the game.
The midcourt worked tirelessly, providing strong support and allowing for smooth transitions from defence to attack.
The defenders also put in a huge effort, working hard to contain a very talented attacking end and applying pressure throughout the match.
While the result did not quite go Rennie’s way, there were many positives to take from the game, and the team’s determination, teamwork and effort were evident from start to finish.
C Grade
Rennie 40 defeated by Strathmerton 42.
The Hoppers knew they had a tough game ahead, with just one ladder position separating them from Strathy.
Strathy came out strong, forcing turnovers and applying pressure across the court, but Rennie never gave up and fought hard all game.
Millie was outstanding, working tirelessly to create opportunities for the shooters and generate crucial turnovers.
Georgie and Georgia were relentless through the midcourt, while Gaby impressed with some fantastic intercepts.
A huge congratulations to Lily Thompson on making her senior debut. She fitted in seamlessly and was a great addition to the team.
Although Rennie could not come away with the win, there is lots to work on and even more to be proud of. Go Hoppers.
C Reserve
Rennie 23 defeated by Strathmerton 27.
Rennie played a great game against Strathmerton this weekend, pushing their opponents all the way in a closely contested match.
The team showed intensity, great teamwork and determination throughout the quarters, matching Strathmerton for long periods and creating plenty of opportunities. Despite falling just short on the scoreboard, Rennie can take plenty of positives from the effort.
Under 17s
Rennie 61 defeated Strathmerton 27.
Rennie’s 17s were determined to bounce back after a tough loss last week.
Once the nerves settled, Rennie found their flow and were hard to stop, although the Bulldogs fought hard in a tight contest.
Birthday girl Charlotte Burrows was outstanding, stepping into defence and looking right at home. Her hands-over pressure and one-on-one defence were exceptional all game.
Mia, Demi and Ella were strong in attack, communicating well, driving hard and picking up crucial intercepts when needed.
It was a great game against Strathmerton that made the girls work for every ball. Well done, team. Bring on next week.
Under 15s
Rennie 27 defeated Strathmerton 17.
The Under 15s delivered another outstanding performance, securing a strong 10-goal victory through exceptional teamwork and determination. The girls worked cohesively across the court, demonstrating excellent communication and efficiency in every quarter.
In attack, Ava, Chelsea and Maisie combined brilliantly, applying constant pressure and converting opportunities to build and maintain the winning margin.
Through the midcourt, Carla, Zali and Dakota showcased their speed, skill and seamless ball movement, driving play forward and creating countless attacking opportunities.
Defensively, Lilly, Ella and Sienna were relentless, consistently disrupting the opposition’s flow and collecting intercept after intercept.
Their defensive pressure was a key factor in the team’s success and set the tone for the entire game.
It was a fantastic team effort from all players. Well done, girls.

Rennie 38 defeated Strathmerton 10.
Rennie’s Under 13s had a fantastic game this week, maintaining a strong lead throughout the whole game.
Darcy had another outstanding game this week. She showed great versatility on the court, and her ability to switch between attack and defence while playing centre was impressive.
Grace Williams also had a fantastic game this week. Her confidence has really started to shine through on the court, and her defensive pressure throughout the game was outstanding.
The girls are looking very strong and Rennie cannot wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for them.
Under 11s
Team Emerald
The Emerald and Green teams held an intraclub match. It was great seeing the younger girls applying what they have learnt at training and getting some great work.
Fantastic leadership and sportsmanship were shown by all. Awards: Skin Ski and Surf – Frankie, T and R Marett – Lola, Rhodes Family – Josie, Paula Mifka – Millie.
Team Green
The girls worked well this week to move the ball down the court.
As always, the girls rotated through positions and it was great to see them demonstrating the key components for each position. There was fantastic sportsmanship in the ring, with all girls passing if another player was in a better position to shoot the goal.
