In a heartfelt moment at the Coleambally Football Netball Club, long-time volunteer and club legend Glen Tooth was recently awarded life membership.

The honour recognised more than four decades of dedication, leadership, and community spirit.
CFNC president Justin Buchanan presented the honour, calling Tooth “one of the club’s most outstanding volunteers”.
Tooth’s journey with the club began as a junior player, eventually rising through the ranks to play seniors, including being part of the 1984 premiership team.
But as Buchanan noted, his contribution “goes far beyond his playing days”.
Over the years, Tooth has served in numerous roles, including committee member, vice president, and president, helping shape the club into the strong, inclusive community it is today.
“Glen has always been the first to put his hand up, whether it’s helping with fundraising, organising events, or mentoring younger players,” Buchanan said.
“His passion for the club and the community is evident in everything he does.”
The night wasn’t without a few laughs, with Buchanan recalling Tooth’s infamous working bee appearance “with a wheelbarrow full of tools, only to spend most of the day supervising from the shade”.
He also recalled the legendary raffle night where Tooth won three meat trays in a row, and insisted it was “just good luck”.
Behind the humour, however, is a man described as “loyal, generous, and always willing to lend a hand”.
Buchanan summed it up best: “We recognise Glen not just for what he’s done, but for who he is. A true clubman. A mentor. A mate.”
The other big club award on the night was the Clem Dunbar Memorial Club Person of the Year, which was presented to Tom Mannes.
When it came to the player awards, James Buchanan became only the second person in first grade history to win three best and fairests in a row, after Andrew McGown in 2007-09.
And Nick Cooper became the second footballer in CFNC history to win a club best and fairest, league best and fairest, premiership and best on ground in a grand final in the same year.
The last was Darren McGown in the 1998 reserves grade.
