Friday was Fish Day. Maree Doyle showed how it should be done when, with 40 stableford points, she came out the winner.
Bill O’Connell (38) and Steve McRae (33) were winners in the ball competition.
Representatives of the late Bill Cook's family and friends travelled from both Canberra and Melbourne, and were joined by good fields made up of locals and visitors for days of great golf during the 2023 Hutcheon & Pearce Finley Masters Tournament.
The 44th Anniversary Bill Cook Memorial 4BBB Stableford event was held on Saturday.
In the men’s division, at the end of the day, a four-way countback on 42 points was required to find the winners.
Local golfers Kevin McCumstie and Rob Klemke stepped up to collect the winners’ trophy, with Brad Haines partnered by Jason Kerr from Deniliquin as runners-up.
In the ladies division, the Klemke family influence continued when Kath Klemke and Sue Simpson were winners with 44 points,
Kellie White and Anne Harding has 42 to be runners-up.

Ball competition winners were Ian Swain and Rob Singleton, Paul Beaver and Billy Smith, Trevor McCaw and Peter Wood, Sharon Pyle and Gai Singleton, Mary Polkinghorne and Annie Wood all with 41 points, as well as Sel Corcoran and Peter Stokes (Tocumwal) and John Taylor and Brett Murphy who each had 39 points.
On Sunday, Darren John had 80 off the stick to step up to claim the men’s division one scratch trophy.
Tom Deane (Burns Belconnen), on 82 scratch, was runner-up.
After countback on 76 net, Simon DeSousa (Murrumbidgee Country) came out the men’s division one net winner, followed by Paul Pinnuck also with 76 net as runner-up.
Peter Stokes (Tocumwal), with 90 off the stick, claimed the men’s division two scratch trophy and Leo McNamara, on 92 gross, was runner-up.
Division two net winner, with 76 net, was Rand Wilson. Also on 76 net was runner-up Bob Ross.
The ladies scratch trophy went to Bobette Wilkinson (Tocumwal) with 85 off the stick, and the net trophy went to Shellie Clark (Tocumwal) after countback on 75 net. Jenni Corcoran, also on 75 net, was runner-up.
NTPs: 18th Kevin McCumstie; 13th Jennie Corcoran.
Men’s longest drive went to Darren John, with the ladies longest drive going to Jennie Corcoran.
Ball Competition winners were Andrew Corcoran 71, Billy Smith 78, Stephen Kelly (Murrumbidgee Country) 78, Michelle O’Brien (78) and Colin McNamara, Lewis McLennan (Quimbayas) and Lindsay Donkin all on 79 net.
Stableford was played to finish the tournament on Monday.
Tony Smith, with 37 points, took out the men’s trophy whilst Linda Rendell on 33 won the ladies trophy.
Jacob Smith picked up the junior trophy with 32 points.

Friday's winner was Wayne Crew (56-18-38) and runner-up was Chris Kelly (45-7-38).
Peter Shand won the putting with 14 putts.
Saturday's winner was Beau Waliss (43-9.5-33.5), and Neil Graham was the runner-up (50-12.5-37.5).
Beau also won the putting with 12 putts, and ball winner was Dave Midson (53-15-38).
Sunday's winner was Rick Bradbury (81-7-74), and runner-up was Chris Cameron (80-5-75).
Chris also won the putting with 27 putts.
Ball winners were Alan Arnold (94-18-76) and Wayne Crew (114-36-79).
Tocumwal
On Tuesday, June 6, only 21 ladies played for the Monthly Medal in cold conditions, on the captain’s course from the blue tees.
Susan Pappas won with net 75 on a countback from Carmel Butcher.
Gross winner was Maxine Sadler 85.

The competition was a mixed Canadian Foursomes Stroke with a field of just over 100 players.

The ladies and men teamed up to play aggregate stableford.
