Finley’s A grade bounced back from their loss last week to claim an eight goal win over Numurkah in Murray League action on Sunday.

The Cats played a fantastic game in hot weather, with the victory a terrific confidence booster for the young Finley side.
Maicie Close was relentless throughout the midcourt and made brilliant drives toward the ball, while Tiarna Burke showed great intensity over the whole court, chasing down all loose balls.
Lauren Yeo was outstanding in defence and was determined to get the ball back down to the other end in a strong performance.
Final score, Finley 40 to Numurkah 32.

Finley’s B grade made it two wins from two games with a two goal win over the Blues.
The Cats showed amazing teamwork throughout the whole game, maintaining a tough body on body approach all game.
It was a very tight match with Elyse Price solid throughout the centre and doing a terrific job of running the ball out of defence.
Andrea Sneddon also starred for Finley, consistently making terrific position in the ring and capitalising on opportunities her teammates provided her.
Final score, Finley 35 to Numurkah 33.

It was a tight battle in C grade, with the Cats on the wrong end of a two goal margin, falling to an impressive Numurkah side.
Finley were caught behind after the first quarter but remained even for the rest of the match only losing at the very end.
The match was highlighted with a great debut in goals by Sasha Wood, with Jess Congram adjusting and setting up well to the new combination.
Kylie Mclean and Bridget Tegart both had great games in defence while Pip McCarney, Tenea Bower, Venessa Geeves and Kaylee Lonsdale supplied wonderful support through the centre court.
Final score, Numurkah 26 to Finley 24.

Finley’s Under 17s were unfortunately unable to get the job done on Sunday, going down by nine goals to the home side.
The Catss were able to put into play what they had been working on during the week in their defence but it just wasn’t enough to get the win.
Tall holds in the ring by Isabella Kelly and Isabel Alexander saw better passage of the ball down to the attackers.
Sarah Haynes and Niamh Mason were key players in mid court with Lucy-Jayne Burdon and Charlie Mason backing them up as defenders.
Piper Doyle and Micaelie Price worked the ring well ably assisted and accurately fed the ball by Niamh Mason and Sarah Haynes.
Annabel Middleton had her debut in GK and held her own.
Final score, Numurkah 36 to Finley 27.

Unfortunately Numurkah were too strong for the U15s Cats on the weekend.
Morgan Evans was once again unstoppable in defence and never gave up for the entire game.
Stella Mason really took on board what was asked of her and showed a massive improvement in her skills.

Finley’s U13s scored their second win of the season, knocking off Numurkah by 20 goals.
The Cats were strong throughout the whole game and even though we were up by 20 goals in the third quarter we didn’t drop intensity.
An even last quarter saw no change to the margin, with Finley cruising to 2-0 start to their season.
Final score, Finley 32 to Numurkah 12.

Finley’s U11s Kittens were a much improved side this week despite falling to Numurkah by six goals.
The Kittens played as a team with plenty of enthusiasm and were fantastic all down the court.
For some players it was their first ever game of netball and while there is still room for improvement they did so well.
The attacking end of Matilda Kelly, Zahlia Lawler, Remi Pyle, Ruby Taylor and Addison Clarke all worked well together as did defenders in Lilly McNamara, Paige Gray, Imogen Nash and Charlotte Fleming.
Final score, Numurkah 8 to Finley 2.
